THE GOD OF ABUNDANCE.
MEMORISE:
And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth. Genesis 1:22
READ: Genesis 1:20-23
20 And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.
21 And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good.
22 And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth.
23 And the evening and the morning were the fifth day.
MESSAGE:
Our God is not just the God of creation, He is also the God of abundance. When God creates, He does not do so sparingly. He is still in the business of creation, according to John 5:17 which says:
“……My Father worketh hitherto, and I work…..”
This is why the provision He made in the universe has not been exhausted.
An end has come to every form of fruitlessness and lack in your life today, in Jesus’ name. Our God is also the God of variety- He created both great and small in different forms. This knowledge must have informed Apostle Paul’s assurance to the Philippians that the Almighty God would supply all their need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19).
Another lesson we could learn from today’s reading is that God blessed His handwork to be fruitful and to multiply. We can thus see how foolish anyone would be if he or she agrees with the devil that God hates him or her. Our God is interested in the prosperity of His people. The Psalmist understood this and wrote:
“……let them say continually, Let the LORD be magnified, which hath pleasure in the prosperity of his servant.” Psalm 35:27
Nobody cares about us more than God. His care, mercy and love are incomparable. Jesus said in John 15:13:
“Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.”
Romans 8:32 also says “He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?”
This is why He said in Luke 12:31:
“But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you.”
In light of the above therefore, trust God for all you need in life because His name is Jehovah-Jireh (The Lord our Provider). Do not cut corners to be rich; if you do, this would have grave consequences. May the God of abundance meet all your needs this season, in Jesus’ name.
PRAYER POINT:
Father, please meet me at the point of my needs today, according to Your riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Luke 11-12.

HYMN 30: WHEN UPON LIFE’S BILLOWS YOU ARE TEMPEST TOSSED.
1. When upon life’s billows you are tempest-tossed,
When you are discouraged, thinking all is lost,
Count your many blessings, name them one by one,
And it will surprise you what the Lord has done.
o Refrain:
Count your blessings, name them one by one,
Count your blessings, see what God has done!
Count your blessings, name them one by one,
*Count your many blessings, see what God has done.
[*And it will surprise you what the Lord has done.]
2. Are you ever burdened with a load of care?
Does the cross seem heavy you are called to bear?
Count your many blessings, every doubt will fly,
And you will keep singing as the days go by.
3. When you look at others with their lands and gold,
Think that Christ has promised you His wealth untold;
Count your many blessings—*money cannot buy [*wealth can never buy]
Your reward in heaven, nor your home on high.
4. So, amid the conflict whether great or small,
Do not be discouraged, God is over all;
Count your many blessings, angels will attend,
Help and comfort give you to your journey’s end.
